Farm in the City (1 June 2014)

I was finding for some family activities for the kids for this school holiday. We did not want to travel and preferred visiting someplace in Selangor. As it turned out there's plenty of jewels to be discovered close to home and one which seems to be talked about frequently lately is the petting zoo called "Farm in the City" in Seri Kembangan.

Map Courtesy of Google  : How to get there :)
Seri Kembangan is fairly near if you live around Klang Valley. Around 30-40mins drive maybe?

My son trying to read the map :)
There's bird show several times a day, where you can see the birds do tricks/fed. You can always check the timing at the entrance before coming in.

The children can pet and observe the animals closely. The animals are used to humans so they're quite gentle and friendly. This is a picture of the world's largest species of rabbit. It is as big as a cat.

The farm houses various types of turtle/ tortoise. Interesting variety

City kids probably never seen a reban ayam before, so a good place to introduce them to animals and nature. There's also "longkang fishing" if you want to try it :)

There's an area filled with rabbits, where the kids can pet and feed the rabbits kangkung. Too adorable. The rabbits seems to be ok with little kids carrying them around.

The pond where you can feed the fishes. The food are readily available at the counter and it is free of charge

Savannah area: There's a few goats and ducks loitering around waiting to be fed.The caretaker is also nearby with food which they'll disseminate for you to give to the animals.

Highlight of the day : Pony rides. The children have to be below 12 and above 90cm to get on the rides.

Certificate of attendance for the kids upon exiting the farm.

Review: All in all quite a good experience for the children who enjoyed themselves. The only downside was we came during weekend PLUS during school holidays so it was a bit crowded. There's a variety of animals and it is quite stroller friendly (but not for double strollers like ours). It also quite shady as there's plenty of trees around.

We opted for the family package (2 adults + 2 children @ RM109, actually it is free entrance for children below 3 but I brought my cousins around hence the extra charge).  Normal tickets are charged at RM38 for adults, RM25 for children and RM7 for a pony ride (show your Malaysian ID). The best part about family package is you get two free air kotak, two vitagen, RM10 food voucher and 2 pony rides. So I would say it is worth it. I rate our experience 8/10, and would come again but maybe on a weekday next time around.
